Barbara Glasmacher,
an expert in the field of international school consulting, has been advising parents and students since 1989 on alternative options for a more forward-looking, international education. Her profound experience with the British school system dates back to the early 1980s, when her four daughters attended independent boarding schools in Great Britain. Today, Mrs. Glasmacher co-operates with more than 170 schools and advises hundreds of parents from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy annually in the selection of the right boarding school and/or summer school for their child.
Over the years two further areas have been added to her consultation services: She offers expert advice on the academic recognition back home of school qualifications obtained in Great Britain. At the same time, she actively supports the introduction of the International Baccalaureate (IB) in more and more schools in Britain.
Mrs. Glasmacher's youngest daughter, Theresa Glasmacher, joined the company in September 2006. Being a graduate of Sevenoaks School herself (with subsequent degrees from universities in London and Boston and several years of work experience in Berlin), she can share with parents and pupils the benefit of her own personal experience of the British school system.
Furthermore, the company is supported by a qualified staff of ten, who are happy to help with questions regarding the acceptance of British school qualifications at German universities (Mrs. Elke Böck), information on summer sessions and language courses, organisation of visits to boarding schools and general advice on academic matters.
Although the range of schools is extensive, choosing the right school requires a certain degree of sensitivity since not every boarding school is suitable for every student. A variety of factors need to be taken into consideration, including the student's unique personality, his or her strengths and weaknesses and the specific choice of subjects. Our regular visits and the intensive dialogue with headmasters, teaching staff and students ensure that we are well informed about the current developments in the schools. This puts us in an ideal position to support you and your children regarding all aspects of a boarding school education in Great Britain. By the way - we will, of course, be happy to answer any questions on academic or personal matters which may arise during the stay abroad.
Please feel free to contact us today and schedule a personal consultation without obligation. Alternatively you can also complete this short application form and return it to our office. We will then contact you and assist you in the further application process.
